We have some news in regards to JD! Today, we released a new demo for him: ATOLS' "Alice"! karasuhana was the person who did the cover and mixing, while Purpled did the silhouette art, and NebulousViper did the minor video editing. The song uses Chestil's UST.
Speaking of silhouette, the one that's presented in the video and SoundCloud thumbnail is a preview of his final art! The full version will not be shown until later and will likely be unveiled in his crossfade video! You all would have to wait until December 6, 2019, his official release date!
We hope you are looking forward to him! After five long years, JD will finally be available to everyone! We'll see you then!

Rvelvoid, one of our affiliates, recently released Hirai Ike's DeepVocal voicebank for his 7th anniversary! The crossfade consists of three songs: an original by DystoP, a short cover of "lili." by ewe, and a cover of "7/8" by Yuyoyuppe. Both covers were done by RottenVelvet, the owner of Rvelvoid. His voicebank was developed by DystoP. Download for Ike's voicebank was made available in the description! The members of JAE VOCAL PROJECT would like to congratulate Ike and RottenVelvet for his release! His new design is so handsome and we are pleased to see new content for our affiliates!
The time has come to reveal the final design for Xiao Meihua English!
But first things first, JAE VOCAL PROJECT showed the third demo for her vocals. It's a cover of "Copycat" by CircusP and features her Natural voicebank. The cover and mixing was done by SlightlyShredded. The artwork was handled by Crispy6usiness and the video was done by DIVINITY. Special thanks were given to Pandora, who assisted with the video a little!
If you've seen the video, you may recognize or wonder about the ladies shown in the reflections of the mirror. Two of them are from the JAE VOCAL PROJECT cast: Ser0 and Xiao Shancha! The other two are affiliates: Nazo Eima from Rvelvoid in purple and Nintone Reicheru by StarGamer01 in yellow! If you are interested in these characters, please see Ser0 and Shancha's webpages as well as the "Affiliates" dropdown menu for Eima and Reicheru!
As you can see, the video acts as a design reveal for this voicebank! Meihua's English design draws inspiration from dawn and sunset for the color palette. It is a fancier style compared to her default Chinese design! The final illustration was done by Riisago! The concept was done by Purpled!
Meihua English still has one song left as a demo, but we'll be doing things a little differently this time. Rather than release the full song, we are planning to incorporate it into the crossfade video first as a preview! After that, we will release the full PV!
Right now, we don't really have a solid release date at the moment, but we are still hoping for Autumn 2019! Depending on the workload, we might be able to release her in late September! We encourage you to follow our twitter (@JaeVocalProject) so you don't miss out! We have so many projects to show you all and we're hoping to reveal them within this year!
The first of the JAE VOCAL PROJECT DeepVocal releases is now up for download! Canary's Japanese DeepVocal voicebank is now available on his webpage!
Rather than a crossfade, it's been decided that he would have one full cover song to showcase his release. It is "メガネの向こうの世界" written by Captain Mirai. The cover, mixing, and video was done by SlightlyShredded.
The image used in the video and thumbnail is by Oweruru! She is the official illustrator for all of the JAE VOCAL PROJECT DeepVocal voicebanks!
As of now, we are still working to bring Xiao Shancha, Xiao Meihua, and Ser0 to DeepVocal and they are progressing rather well! But for now, we hope you like and utilize Canary's Japanese DeepVocal voicebank!
Thank you for reading and supporting JAE VOCAL PROJECT!
Two affiliates of JAE VOCAL PROJECT have DeepVocal voicebanks released! The first we're showcasing is Pinku, owned by Tora☆Ouji. He has a Mandarin Chinese voicebank available for the voice synthesizer and he would no longer be produced for UTAU. You can still obtain his UTAU voicebanks through his website, but please be aware that all new vocals will be made for DeepVocal from now on.
His release video is a cover of "Sublime Symptoms" written by ToToo. The cover was done by Tora himself and the video was done by SlightlyShredded.
The art in the video was done by catticoon, the official illustrator of Pinku! It's a dynamic change of looks for DeepVocal! Downloads for his voicebank are available on Tora's website!
The second affiliate is Seishi Starchaser from the StarRise Project by Starchaser-C! He was released as an UTAU on July 1, 2019 and was configured for DeepVocal later in the month. NebulousViper had the honor of voicing the character in addition to being the first to make a full cover using the DeepVocal version! The cover also featured Xiao Meihua's Japanese DeepVocal voicebank, however, details about it is not ready to be shared yet.
The cover was "Magic Melody" written by cake from HoneyWorks. The mixing was done by SlightlyShredded and the art was by MochaBunnii.
Downloads for Seishi's UTAU and DeepVocal voicebanks are available in the blocks of The StarRise Project website!
We hope that you like their voicebanks and may consider using them in the future! We at JAE VOCAL PROJECT are extremely proud of Tora and Starchaser-C! Congratulations to them both!
As of recently, news about a particular voice synthesizer being available to the public for making new voicebanks has been circulating throughout the fandom! It shouldn't come as a much of a surprise that JAE UTAU PROJECT would like to take part in this endeavor!
We are excited to announce that we've decided to cast the JAE characters onto the DeepVocal engine! Based on the title, you already know that the first vocal will be Canary! We have one demo to share at the moment!
The song is "A Lie and a Stuffed Rabbit" written by Dixie Flatline! The UST was created by Doodlegirl863!
As you can see, the SoundCloud link features a new look for Canary! This will be his new design, but the art is not final at the moment. Please look forward to the finished version! To go on, each of our other released characters will also be receiving DeepVocal voicebanks but we have no set order as of yet! On another note, the group has been renamed from "JAE UTAU PROJECT" to "JAE VOCAL PROJECT" to include DeepVocal. Users will be able to use both the UTAU and DeepVocal versions of each voicebank as we would like to provide different options for anyone who preferred one over the other. With that said, we've modified the "Voicebank Downloads" sections to add DeepVocal. The current layout is not final and may be changed in the future depending on what works. This concludes the announcement! We hope you're looking forward to the DeepVocal counterparts of our current UTAUs!
JAE UTAU PROJECT is proud to announce that a new release is coming soon! JAE-01 Xiao Meihua will be receiving two CVVC Arpasing English voicebanks: Natural and Sweet! And as usual for our UTAUs, she will be getting at least four demos before her release!
The first was a cover of GHOST's "The Distortionist" and it was covered by SlightlyShredded using Tora☆Ouji's UST! The illustration was done by cakesdown and the video was done by DIVINITY! Many thanks to all of them! The demo can be seen and heard on bilibili, YouTube, and SoundCloud!
If you've taken a look at the character pages recently, you probably noticed new links for each character. These links take you to their UTAU Wiki (1.0) pages, where they are filled with all sorts of production notes and are a little more in depth compared to the 2.0 counterparts. Both will still be updated accordingly. But because UTAU Wiki has room for production notes (these are filed away under the "History" header), we will be making note of when things were done as best as we can remember!
There were discussions among the members of JAE UTAU PROJECT that Meihua may receive additional voicebanks in other languages aside from Mandarin Chinese and Japanese ever since her production and release in 2016. We weren't able to make it happen until early 2019 with Arpasing English after JAE-03 Canary was released. After the samples were recorded, we approached bluCitrus to oto them and this process was completed in March. Once that was finished, we thought about what demos she should sing and selected four. Aside from that, the group also liked the idea of Meihua receiving another design for English. Purpled began the design process in around late 2018 and completed it in April 2019. More details about the design will come at a later date when we are ready to reveal it! We are so excited to share more Meihua English content with you! Everyone involved with the project and demos is working very hard! Based on what we have now, we are expecting her to release in Autumn, however, this is subject to change depending on how quickly we work. For now, we hope you are anticipating her release!
It's been three years since Xiao Meihua was first released on June 3rd, 2016! Time flies by so fast! And to celebrate, JAE UTAU PROJECT worked together with a variety of different people to create a PV!
The chosen cover for her anniversary was "ヒカリ" (Hikari), an original Hatsune Miku (and Hatsune Mikuo) song written by アリアP (Aria-P). This 2009 song was one of Migi's (Meihua's voice provider) favorites and he especially adored derivative characters like Mikuo! It was then decided that this song would be covered for Meihua's anniversary and to help viewers understand the lyrics or give an idea of what it's about, we used MusicalShape's translation. But this cover was a much bigger project than any other we had ever done! A total of fifteen different artists were commissioned for the illustrations, where each of them drew an illustration on a scene from the original video. For the video itself, thirteen of them were featured: oweruru, shippy_things, Preuss (JAE), Ariaera, Purpled (JAE), Winter, Niramuchu, Crusher-P, solojune, Sartika3091, Parapa-kun, Rouss-Black, TerrainAkka, and SlightlyShredded (JAE)! Hebiscus did the YouTube and bilibili thumbnail while Pearl-chan0415's was used for the SoundCloud thumbnail! Ultimately, the varying art styles were truly stunning and give such an interesting look! It was a beautiful compilation! As for the cover itself, it was tuned by Lanttu, who did an amazing job with it and was very quick! We love the cover and are thoroughly impressed with her work! SlightlyShredded also did the mixing for the cover! Lastly, the awesome person who put it all together in a PV was DIVINITY who worked quickly and did a wonderful job! It was truly a pleasure working with her in addition to everyone else! We truly could not have this done without all of them!
As a whole, this project took almost half a year, with plannings beginning around late summer! We are very much in love with the end result and we hope you like it too!
But one more thing... Clearly you can see that there's two singers in this song: a male and a female. The female is obviously Xiao Meihua, but the male is someone you may not have seen before unless:
This male is known as "Xiao Meiye" (小梅叶)! Since "Hikari" is a song that features Miku alongside her fanmade male derivative, Mikuo, we wanted to keep to this theme. To do that, we gave Meihua her very own male derivative! In late 2016, we asked a question on Meihua's defunct Facebook page: "If Meihua was a male, what would his name be?". The question was asked for fun and one person suggested "Xiao Meiye", with the last character of Meihua's name, "Huā" (花), changed to "Yè" (叶). This basically changed the name's meaning from "Small Plum Flower" to "Small Plum Leaf". It was not until 2018 that we decided to design him, especially so he could be presented in this cover. Information about him as a character can be found on the website through Meihua's webpage! This includes a biography (which is a little different compared to his originator) and his very own terms of use! Despite this, Meiye is not treated as canon, so his design and biography can be altered from user to user. However, the terms of use will remain the same as derivatives that are based on Meihua's character must abide to her rules!
We are truly pleased and proud of the final outcome of this project! It was well worth it and we once again would like to thank everyone involved, for if it wasn't for them, it would not have been completed on time!
We have so many exciting things to show soon for the JAE UTAUs! But as usual, we cannot show them to you just yet until they are ready, so we hope you are looking forward to our future plans! In celebration of Pride Month, the staff of JAE UTAU PROJECT agreed to reveal the design of Canary's Arpasing English Vivid Soft voicebank! This design was illustrated by pimienta_kast! At the moment, we don't have a set release date for this voicebank and it will be a while before we show anything more in regards to it. But nevertheless, we hope that you are all looking forward to it!
In the coming months, please expect more JAE UTAU PROJECT content! We're very excited to show everyone what's to come! The newest Canary Japanese demo is now here! It's a cover of "Sky High", an original composed by nakano4! But unlike the last demo, this one features a video, and was uploaded on both YouTube and SoundCloud! Just like before, the cover was done by SlightlyShredded and the design was done by crispy6usiness! The video was done by NebulousViper. But here, the design was revealed in the video itself! Since the design was finally shown off, we've replaced the silhouette on Canary's webpage with the final design! Check it out! Canary's Japanese design was also conceptualized by SlightlyShredded and Tora Ouji! A special thanks to Tora for this as well!
We don't have a release date set for Canary Japanese yet, but we hope you like him and are looking forward to his voicebank! |
